A.A.A.D.D. KNOW THE SYMPTOMS!

Thank goodness there’s a name for this disorder…
Somehow I feel better, even though I have it!!

Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D.
Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.

This is how it manifests:

I decide to water my garden.
As I turned on the hose in the driveway,
I looked over at my car and decided it needs washing.

As I started toward the garage,
I noticed mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mail box earlier.

I decided to go through the mail before I wash the car.

I lay my car keys on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, and noticed that the can is full.

So, I decide to put the bills back
on the table and take out the garbage first.

But then I think,
since I’m going to be near the mailbox when I take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my check book off the table,
and see that there is only one check left.

My extra checks are in my desk in the study,
so I go inside the house to my desk where
I find the can of Pepsi I’d been drinking.

I’m going to look for my checks,
but first I need to push the Pepsi aside so that I don’t accidentally knock it over.

The Pepsi is getting warm,
and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.

As I head toward the kitchen with the Pepsi,
a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye–they need water.

I put the Pepsi on the counter and
discover my reading glasses that
I’ve been searching for all morning…

I decide I better put them back on my desk,
but first I’m going to water the flowers.

I set the glasses back down on the counter,
fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,
I’ll be looking for the remote,
but I won’t remember that it’s on the kitchen table,
so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I’ll water the flowers.

I pour some water in the flowers,
but quite a bit of it spills on to the floor.

So, I set the remote back on the table,
get some towels and wipe up the spill.

Then, I head down the hall trying to
remember what I was planning to do.

At the end of the day:
the car isn’t washed
the bills aren’t paid
there is a warm can of Pepsi sitting on the counter
the flowers don’t have enough water,
there is still only 1 check in my check book,
I can’t find the remote,
I can’t find my glasses,
and I don’t remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today,
I’m really baffled because I know I was busy all day, and I’m really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem,
and I’ll try to get some help for it, but first I’ll check my e-mail…..

Don’t laugh — if this isn’t you yet, your day is coming!!

Balance Your Life

You cannot change your thoughts without changing your life in the process – either for good or for bad.  Immerse yourself in the right thoughts and you will become the person you long to be, just as surely as the planting of an acorn yields an oak tree and not a pine tree.  Plant your acorn NOW!

When you have an inspired thought – you have to trust it and act upon it!

I see people who make a tremendous amount of money who are miserable and their relationships stink. That’s not wealth.

You can go after the money. You might get rich. But, it doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be wealthy.

I’m not suggesting that money isn’t a part of wealth, it absolutely is part.

And then I meet a lot of people who are quote “Spiritual”, but their sick & broke all the time. They feel that carrying a cross of poverty makes them more noble. That’s not wealth either.

Life is meant to be abundant in all areas. Man is that he might have joy. A truly wealthy man is the one who finds that BALANCE in all things. He will have abundance in spiritually, in family life, and in finances. But only a small percentage learns this principal and has the courage to apply it.

ATTITUDE

THE LONGER I LIVE, THE MORE I REALIZE THE IMPACT OF ATTITUDE ON LIFE. ATTITUDE, TO ME, IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN FACTS. IT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAT THE PAST, THAN EDUCATION, THAN MONEY, THAN CIRCUMSTANCES, THAN FAILURES, THAN SUCCESS, THAN WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK OR SAY OR DO. IT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN APPEARANCE, GIFTEDNESS OR SKILL. IT WILL MAKE OR BREAK A RELATIONSHIP… A COMPANY… A CHURCH… A HOME. IT IS ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL FORCES KNOWN TO MAN.

THE REMARKABLE THING IS WE HAVE A CHOICE EVERY DAY REGARDING THE ATTITUDE WE WILL EMBRACE ON ANY GIVEN DAY. WE CAN’T CHANGE OUR PAST…WE CAN’T CHANGE THE INEVITABLE. THE ONLY THING WE CAN DO IS PLAY ON THE ONE STRING WE HAVE, AND THAT IS OUR ATTITUDE…I AM CONVINCED THAT LIFE IS 10% WHAT HAPPENS TO ME AND 90% HOW I REACT TO IT. AND SO IT IS WITH YOU…

WE ARE IN CHARGE OF OUR ATTITUDE!

BOSS Vs. LEADER

I believe ATTITUD is every thing. It affects EVERY part of our life. So I thought I would share this little piece.

BOSS Vs. LEADER

A boss drives. A leader leads.

A boss relies on authority.  A leader relies on cooperation.

A boss says “I”.  A leader says “We”.

A boss creates fear.  A leader creates confidence.

A boss knows how.  A leader shows how.

A boss creates resentment.  A leader breeds enthusiasm.

A boss fixes blame.  A leader fixes mistakes.

A boss makes work drudgery.  A leader makes work interesting.

The Two Wolves

The Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about the

battle that goes on inside of people.

He said, “My son, the battle is between ‘two Wolves’ inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, pride, slothfulness, laziness, superiority and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, charity, creativity, hard-working, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked, “Which wolf wins?”

The grandfather simply replied, “The One YOU FEED!”

Nobody Did It

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybody’s job.

Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done!

The Mindset of a Superstar

Brett Figueroa is a personal success coach who worked under Tony Robbins for 6 years, and is now the owner of Momentum Strategies in Denver, Colorado. Brett says that there are three primary factors that put someone at the top of their game.

The Ultimate Goal.

Remember the movie City Slickers? What is your “one thing?” The one thing you want to truly make your life feel complete. “Too many people”, Brett says, “go through life with a notion of what they want, without ever figuring out exactly what they want.” Do you want to retire in a beachfront estate? Create a happy family? End world hunger?

The Strategy.

Once people know what they want, they need to map out how to get there. How will they position themselves to where they can reach their goal? If you don’t yet have your map, look to others who have achieved what you want. Offer to buy them lunch so you can pick their brains. Create a map rather than just wandering around, hoping to stumble onto your dreams one day.

The Timeline.

When will you achieve your goal? What do you need to get there? When must you reach specific sub-goals in order to reach your final goal? Brett points out that if a person sets aside just one hour a day for their personal goal, they will have spent nine 40-hour weeks working on it by the end of the year!

If you don’t already have these three components defined in your life, I recommend taking some time to do so when you’re away from work. Check out some self-help books from the library, or buy a highly-rated one at Amazon.com. Get inspired, get ready, then get to work!
